Front-running cities changing transport, improving quality of life
Many cities in Europe are changing, according to a new report which points to rapid transformations in urban transport in some areas. While cycling and efficient public transport are becoming the norm in some urban areas, Europe’s transport sector is still a major contributor to excessive levels of greenhouse gases, air pollution and noise, the report says.

Mobility Week envisages cleaner air through alternative urban transport
Over 2000 European towns and cities are expected to participate in the 12th edition of European Mobility Week. This year the week runs until 22 September under the slogan ‘Clean air – It’s your move!’.

Commission approves first eco-innovation for passenger cars
The European Commission today approved the first eco-innovation to help reduce CO2 emissions from passenger cars. The decision follows an application by carmaker Audi AG involving the use of light emitting diodes (LEDs).

Merseyside’s £20 Million boost for Transport
Merseyside is to benefit from £19.99 million of central government money after Merseytravel and the five Merseyside Councils were successful in their bid into the Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF).
